John Stephen Goodman\u00a0(born June 20, 1952) is an American actor. He rose to prominence in television before becoming an acclaimed and popular film actor. Goodman has received\u00a0various accolades, including a\u00a0Primetime Emmy Award, a\u00a0Golden Globe Award, and a\u00a0Screen Actors Guild Award.\u00a0Vanity Fair\u00a0has called him “among our very finest actors”.<\/p>\n

Goodman started his career at\u00a0The Public Theatre\u00a0acting in numerous productions including\u00a0Henry IV, Part 1\u00a0(1981),\u00a0The Skin of Our Teeth\u00a0(1998), and\u00a0The Seagull\u00a0(2001). He made his\u00a0Broadway debut in\u00a0Big River\u00a0(1985), for which Goodman received a\u00a0Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical\u00a0nomination. He returned to Broadway in revivals of the\u00a0Samuel Beckett\u00a0play\u00a0Waiting for Godot\u00a0(2009), and the newspaper comedy\u00a0The Front Page\u00a0(2016). Goodman made his\u00a0West End\u00a0debut in a revival of\u00a0David Mamet’s\u00a0American Buffalo\u00a0(2015).<\/p>\n
