She began acting at the\u00a0National Youth Music Theatre\u00a0and the\u00a0Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She gained acclaim for her roles as\u00a0Juliet\u00a0in\u00a0Romeo and Juliet\u00a0and\u00a0Octavia\u00a0in\u00a0Anthony and Cleopatra\u00a0in 2005 at the\u00a0Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. She made her\u00a0West End and\u00a0Broadway\u00a0debut, portraying\u00a0Ophelia\u00a0in\u00a0Hamlet in 2009. For her role as the titular character in\u00a0Jessica Swale’s 2015 play\u00a0Nell Gwynn, she received an\u00a0Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress\u00a0nomination.<\/p>\n
