Justin Chatwin\u00a0(born October 31, 1982)\u00a0is a Canadian actor. He began his career in 2001 with a brief appearance in the musical comedy\u00a0Josie and the Pussycats. Following his\u00a0breakthrough role\u00a0as Robbie Ferrier in the blockbuster\u00a0War of the Worlds\u00a0(2005), Chatwin headlined studio films such as\u00a0The Invisible (2007) and\u00a0Dragonball Evolution\u00a0(2009), an action-adventure feature based on the\u00a0manga\u00a0series\u00a0Dragon Ball. In the 2010s, Chatwin acted in small\u00a0independent films. He starred as rock star idol Bobby Shore in the sci-fi musical\u00a0Bang Bang Baby\u00a0(2014), which earned him a\u00a0Canadian Screen Awards\u00a0nomination for Best Supporting Actor and appeared in the romantic comedy\u00a0Unleashed\u00a0(2016) and drama\u00a0Summer Night\u00a0(2019).<\/p>\n
Throughout the 2000s, Chatwin made guest appearances in several television series, including\u00a0Weeds\u00a0and\u00a0Lost. His first regular role was on the\u00a0comedy-drama\u00a0Shameless, where he portrayed\u00a0Jimmy Lishman\u00a0between 2011 and 2015. Chatwin starred as a cartoonist in the\u00a0CBS\u00a0murder mystery drama\u00a0American Gothic\u00a0(2016), and also that year, he appeared as superhero Grant Gordon \/ The Ghost in the\u00a0Doctor Who\u00a0Christmas special “The Return of Doctor Mysterio”. From 2019 to 2021, Chatwin played scientist Erik Wallace in\u00a0Netflix’s\u00a0Another Life.<\/p>\n
Aside from acting, he has a long-time passion for motorcycles, extreme sports and travelling.\u00a0Chatwin’s journey from\u00a0Vancouver\u00a0to\u00a0Patagonia\u00a0on a motobike was depicted in the documentary series\u00a0No Good Reason\u00a0(2020), which he also executive produced.<\/p>\n
